SPS Winter Colloquia: Dustin P. Calvillo

Title: Factors that influence belief in true and false headlines


Bio: Dustin P. Calvillo is a professor in the Psychology Department at California State University San Marcos. His primary research interest is in memory distortions, particularly those from misinformation. More recently, he has begun examining susceptibility to real-world misinformation that is prevalent on social media: fake news. The goals of this work are to identify people most susceptible to fake news and to create interventions to decrease susceptibility.
