About this Event
'Laks' Lakshminarasimhan Narayanan (OSU) - Chemistry Departmental Seminar
Photofunctional materials such as phosphors, photocatalysts, etc. are those which exhibit photo induced functionalities. Their properties depend on the bulk crystal and surface structures, surface electronic structure of the materials, and nature of the dopants. Also, surface modification or the use of capping ligands instabilizing nanostructures results in unusual optical properties. Understanding their basic characteristics and interactions is essential in explaining such unusual photofunctional properties.
