We are fortunate to be able to host Dunya again this year! Join us for this unique dance meditation experience sponsored by OSU’s Contemplative Studies Initiative. This program is open to all - students, faculty, and members of the community far and wide.
Sufi Dance Meditation Retreat with Dunya McPherson
Dancemeditation™ is a way of self-knowledge which includes, rather than excludes, the body, movement, dance, breath, and intuition. It is a practice of dancing into the heart of mysticism, of coming home; it is a practice of awakening and evolving, becoming fully human in the spirit and the flesh. This form of contemplative movement entwines three large bodies of work: Art, Somatics, and Shattari Sufism and utilizes a wide variety of breathing and movement techniques to quiet over-active, distracted mind-identity and invite intuitive, inspired embodiment. Dancemeditation™ practices encourage us to more closely feel our body while uncoupling the impulse to fix or alter it. We wake up inside the fabric of who and what we are. We trust. Join Dunya in the seeking and finding—plunging into the body, our original gift, the doorway to understanding who we are.
