The presentation will include the following issues: Background information on Norway, the spread of the coronavirus in the country; how the Norwegian job market influences infection import; development of national guidelines for infection prevention at work lead by the National Institute of Health in cooperation with governmental bodies, employers, organizations, trade unions and occupational health service; and more.
Dr. Vetlesen completed his MD from Copenhagen University, his MPH from Harvard University, and his MBA BI-Norwegian Business School. He specializes in occupational medicine. He serves in different positions of trust, 6 years as head of The Norwegian Association of Occupational Physicians. Presently he is a member of the advisory board to The National Institute of Occupational Health in Norway. He served as an occupational physician for nearly 40 years, worked for the National Institute of Occupational Health, served for several years as a global senior occupational health advisor in Orkla, a Norwegian industrial conglomerate. Currently, he is the responsible physician for the medical field at the Norwegian operation at Avonova Health, the largest occupational health service in Scandinavia. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he has been involved in developing general infection control guidelines for industries, services and organizations, doing risk assessments and making action plans, and hosting webinars on Covid-19 prevention.
