The road to true love never runs smoothly and especially in this satirical comedy by the witty and masterful Molière. Set in 1672, Clitandre seeks the hand of his beloved Henriette, but her mother Philaminte has other plans for her youngest daughter. Trickery and scheming ensues as Molière boldly critiques gender roles and the hypocrisy of intellectual pretention. Directed by OSU Theatre instructor Andrew Beck, this production embraces the lush colorful style of this classic comedy.
