Corvallis documentarian, David-Paul Hedberg, has been making a film “The Seeds of Peace” about the fifty one Peace Trees planted across Oregon, which made our state home to the largest number of trees descended from Hiroshima survivor trees planted anywhere outside of Japan. The first Green Legacy Hiroshima Peace Tree was planted in 2019 at the OSU Asian and Pacific Islander Cultural Center (APCC) to honor Hiroshima survivor Hideko Tamura Snider of Medford, Oregon. This persimmon tree was also rededicated in 2022 to include another survivor, the late June Ikuko Terasaka Moore who lived in Corvallis.
