Traipsin' Global on Wheels (TGOW) was established in August of 2018 by Ming Michelle Canaday. TGOW was created as a space where individuals with disabilities know how to access information and inquire about fitness. TGOW has already released a series of videos on how to stay fit in a wheelchair. In addition, this program encourages individuals with disabilities to be worldly. TGOW cultivates a group of healthy, worldly, and informed advocates that will accept, and perhaps even embrace their disability, and advocate for equity and justice for people with various disabilities.

This event will be co-presented by the Hattie Redmond Women & Gender Center - Oregon State University with the support of Disability Access Services (DAS), Center for Civic Engagement - Oregon State University (CCE) and the President's Commission on the Status of Women as co-sponsors. The event is a part of International Women's Day and Womxn's Herstory Month.

There will be two sessions for this event. The first session will be held Thursday, March 7th, 5:00-7:00 p.m., in SEC 112. There will be refreshments and a presentation aimed at discussing travel, accessible design, fitness, and how TGOW was started.

The second session (RSVP Required) will be held the next day, Friday, March 8th, 12:00-2:00 p.m., in the APCC Gathering Hall. There will be a lunch and discussion about identities, attitudes towards disabilities, resources.

RSVP is required for the second day.
