Oregon State University Theatre presents The Light Keepers, a new play by Oregon-based playwright, Lindsay Partain. The Light Keepers will run May 12-13 and 18-19 at 7:30 p.m.

May 14 and 21 at 2 p.m. at the Whiteside Theatre (361 SW Madison Avenue Corvallis, OR 97333). The audience is invited to participate in a post-show discussion with the playwright, director, and cast following the May 14^th performance.

In a not-so-distant future in Oregon, a tear in the fabric of the universe makes it possible for high school students Carmen and Max to experience an alternate reality where they can reconnect with a friend they thought they had lost forever. This witty and poignant play examines the impact, for better or for worse, that every individual can make in another person's life and the challenges of growing up.

The Light Keepers was originally produced as a reading in August 2022 by the Salem-based new play development company, Theatre 33. Oregon State University will be the first to fully-stage this powerful and moving play before debuting as part of the prestigious Lanford Wilson New American Theatre Festival this spring. OSU Theatre faculty and director Elizabeth Helman comments, “I am so proud that we get to be a part of this exquisite play’s production history and that we can help celebrate the work of an Oregon playwright.”

This production features a cast of OSU students including Abrianna Aydee (Carmen), Morgan Barnaby (DeeDee), Libby Brennan (Maxine), Sophie Brown (Max), Gabby Gates (Squad), Tess Juarez (Trevor), Abby Oliver (Squad), Hamoud Saeed (Squad), Nick Sirianni (Squad), and Shae Williams (Captain Heather).

The Whiteside Theatre will be selling concessions including snacks, soft drinks, and wine, beer, cider prior to the performance and during intermission.
