US Student Fulbright Program Open Information Session

Please join OSU’s Fulbright Program Advisor LeAnn Adam and a panel of OSU Fulbright alumni for general information and Q & A about applying for a Fulbright.

About the US Student Fulbright Program:

Since 1946, the Fulbright U.S. Student Program has provided emerging American leaders with an unparalleled opportunity to study, conduct research, and serve as English teaching assistants abroad in order to build lasting connections between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program currently awards approximately 2,000 grants annually and operates in more than 160 countries worldwide.

In addition to hundreds of traditional study and research grants, the Fulbright U.S. Student Program currently offers more than 1,000 Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship awards to over 70 countries.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program selects participants through a competitive, merit-based application process, and offers several benefits during the period of the grant. These include funding for round-trip travel, living expenses for one academic year, and healthcare benefits.

Applicants to the Fulbright U.S. Student Program must be U.S. citizens and hold a bachelor’s degree (or the equivalent) by the beginning of the grant period. Individuals may be, but are not required to be, currently enrolled in a college or university at the time of application. Early career professionals in a range of fields, including artists, are eligible and encouraged to apply.

For more information, please visit the Fulbright U.S. Student Program website,

Oregon State University students and alumni may contact LeAnn Adam, OSU’s campus Fulbright Program Adviser for more information and support throughout the application process.

The 2021-2022 US Student Fulbright competition will open on March 31, 2020.
