Please join us for the upcoming Water Resources Seminar. Dr. Scott Leibowitz of the US EPA will present “Using National Maps of Watershed and Catchment Integrity to Inform Aquatic Resource Management” on Wednesday October 17th, from 4 to 5 p.m. in Owen 106.
About Dr. Leibowitz:
Scott Leibowitz is a senior research ecologist with EPA’s National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory in Corvallis, Oregon. He is a landscape ecologist with a background in wetland ecology and a focus on spatial analysis. Leibowitz leads a task that has mapped aquatic condition and watershed integrity nationally, and another task that is examining water quality impacts from wildfire. He uses spatial analysis to help prioritize aquatic protection and restoration efforts at large spatial scales. In addition to watershed integrity, recent studies have focused on stream condition, lake eutrophication, gastrointestinal hospitalizations, hydrologic landscapes, and geographically isolated wetlands.
The seminar is free and open to the public.
We hope to see you there!
