Tekla Bude works on late medieval English literature of all types, but her primary interest is in the intersection between literature and the arts of the quadrivium -- that is, what those at a medieval university would call the arts of number, and what we might call "science": music, arithmetic, geometry, and astronomy.
How does the literary imagination inflect the numerical imagination? How does music inspire religious or poetic experience? How does arithmetic or geometry help the medieval writer articulate ideas about God or nature?
