In a joint effort by OSU Global Opportunities and the Colleges of Agricultural Sciences and Forestry we are excited to launch a new, term-long program in Chilean Patagonia. Join faculty leaders Kelly Biedenweg, Claudio Guevara, Ivan Arismendi, Carlos Gonzalez, Chris Still and Michele Justice to learn more about this program. OSU students will join with their Chilean counterparts for high-impact, hands-on learning in one of the world’s most spectacular places. Co-taught by OSU faculty and their colleagues from the Universidad de Chile and Universidad de Aysen, students will gain an in-depth understanding of varied ecosystems and the people that inhabit them across this region. Through field work, meetings with practitioners, excursions and a culminating internship experience, students will encounter this iconic landscape, the natural and man-made challenges it faces, and the ways in which a variety of stakeholders and communities are coming together to protect it for future generations.
