"Why are you doing your research? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" As graduate students and researchers, we all get asked these questions at some point, whether by a professor or a job recruiter. This Graduate Writing Center workshop will help you craft an answer to this question by connecting your professional identity and the core values driving your career together to form your own Professional Hero Story.  You would use this story to explain your motivations and future ambitions in your Statements of Purpose and Job Interviews in future.

Together we will workshop:

• What research are you doing?
• Why is it important to you?
• How does it contribute to the world? 
• What are your future professional goals?
